Being the hands and feet of Jesus
On Sunday we packed ‘Warm Hand’ bags for those living with housing insecurities. These will be passed out when we help with worship on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10am-1:30pm- partnering with Church on the Street. https://churchonthestreetsf.org/
This event will include a meal for about 150 people and possible giveaway of comfort items to the attendees. It will be held at the Multi-Cultural Center downtown. Good Shepherd will be using funds raised by the quilt raffle to support this effort. We need about 10-15 volunteers. Please call the church if you can help.
Rev Shaneequa and Laurel did a fabulous job representing Good Shepherd at the Augustana Olliepalooza fair, getting to know some Augie students and letting them know how loving and welcoming we are!
August 15th, 2024 BLOCK PARTY
Another wonderful neighborhood block party with a fabulous quilt raffle and quilt show, tons of door prizes, BBQ food truck. Mogen’s Heroes, games and fun! We are so thankful for all the volunteers who made this happen and for the chance to meet and celebrate with our neighbors. This is the church!
The Good Shepherd Food Forest
The Food Forest begins! Finally building the garden beds and compost bins and “solarizing” (killing with tarp cover) the thistle bed!
Mission 22 Walk - June 22, 2024
Thanks to all who walked the Mission 22 walk despite flooding and rain.
Quilted Hanging Raffle
The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd is raffling a quilted tapestry by Dan Mueller, regionally respected Master Quilter. Net proceeds will benefit Church on the Street https://churchonthestreetsf.org in Sioux Falls. Tickets will be sold June 20 to August 15, and only 150 tickets will be sold! Ticket price is $20, by cash or check made payable to Church of the Good Shepherd. The tapestry measures 36” x 36”, and is named “Surprised by Joy” which reflects the contemporary pattern that seemingly explodes outward with bright and saturated colors. It can be used as a wall hanging or lap quilt.
To purchase tickets call the church office at 605-332-1474 or see one of our members. The raffle drawing will be held Thursday, August 15 at 7:30 PM at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd block party 2707 West 33rd Street, Sioux Falls, SD. All are welcome at the block party, but ticket holders need not attend to win.
