GIVING BACK..."Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me".
On Monday April 23rd ten gallons of chili soup and toppings, four 1/2 sheet pans of corn bread, crackers, cookies and brownies were delivered to the Veteran Outreach Center for their noon lunch. When we arrived we were met by several Vets who helped us carry the food in and helped to get things set up. Everyone expressed appreciation for a "home cooked" meal and we later learned that there was enough food for two days. We were told that the soup was a "nice break" from the usual frozen foods they heat up for lunch. It is with gratitude that I thanks the folks who came to the church on Saturday morning to make soup (Starla Pfeifer, Teri Johnson, Pauline,Randjit and Eugene, Mo. Christina and Steve Albrecht) and to those who made cookies or brownies (Cora Kuhlman, Tammy Briggs, Marlene Weires). A special thank you to the Heavenly Comforter who covered the cost of the meal.
