Dear Ones,
In this time of uncertainty, I wish you God’s deep peace!
In prayerfully considering and discussing our COVID-19 response at Good Shepherd, here is where I have felt led:
Our Vestry calling tree will aim to call you once a week to inform you of any news or changes and to encourage you to call one or two others yourself so that we do not become isolated. Please let us know how we can be the church, especially when it is not possible for us to go to church.
We are moving our Wednesday and Sunday services to online only using Facebook. We will keep our office open for the time being. We ask that you do not come to church if you are ill, have contact with someone who is, if you are older, or if you have a health condition that puts you at risk.
We will cancel our Wednesday night soup suppers and Thurs Eucharists.
We will livestream our Taizé Compline Wednesday at 7pm and our 8am Rite I and 10am Rite II Sunday services on Facebook Live.
We will deliver sealed communion kits on request (a ziplock bag containing home communion liturgy, readings, and host). Please call the office — (605) 332-1474 — if you would like a Prayer Book or Bible.
We will also deliver, on request, freezer meals or grocery needs if you are homebound. Please call the office — (605) 332-1474 — or Mary Soukup — (605) 201-2926.
You may talk with Mother Christina by phone or Facetime for prayer and pastoral care. Call the office — (605) 332-1474 — to let us know, and we’ll get you in contact. In a time of great fear and uncertainty, please let us know how we can help. Don’t suffer in silence. Do not isolate yourself.
Please continue your giving toward your pledge by mail or online so we can keep our doors open and continue to minister to all in Christ’s name.
Let us know how we can continue to help you nurture your soul. Consider this Church Next class on how to do church at home.
May God’s peace guard and protect your heart and soul,
Mother Christina, Rector
